Sports Liaison Officer

In March 2020 Isle of Man Sport appointed a Sports Liaison Officer to represent the Sports Liaison Committee and Isle of Man Sport.

Louise Corkill took over this role in July 2021 and her remit is to ensure sports are assisted through the Support for Sport framework. Furthermore the role was created to help Governing Bodies of Sport develop their sport and understand the practicalities and implications of being involved in sport on the Island and as a whole.

It is the role of the Sports Liaison Officer to establish a better understanding of all sports on the Island, developing stronger links between Isle of Man Sport and Governing Bodies of Sport. Louise is more than happy to visit sports at evening and weekend events, at club facilities and at coaching sessions, to provide Isle of Man Sport with a greater insight into your sport and to meet the people that make your sport great!

A bit about Louise...

Originally from the Island, Louise moved to the UK to pursue her sporting and academic ambitions, studying for a Masters degree in Sport Psychology. Having been involved in high performance and talent development within hockey for the last 10 years as both a player and a coach, Louise returned to the Island in 2020 after finishing a stint of playing and coaching abroad. Alongside this, Louise has also been involved in the strategic development and evolution of the England Hockey player pathway over the last 5 years, as well as holding various other regional and local governance roles within the sport.

Away from hockey, Louise enjoys being involved in a number of other different sports and is enjoying the return to Island life!
